The 2010 Celebrating Wellness Fest
Meet the Committee

Kimberly Braun - Creator and Director

It is with great joy we bring you the second annual festival! Last year's event was the heart-centered, community building, personal empowering experience I hoped it would be. Each sponsor, exhibitor, facilitator and performer shared their gifts to the fullest of their ability. Today I am still listening to the stories of healing and connection. I can only imagine what year two will bring for us! NOW is your chance to participate.

As an ordained minister, Reiki Master, meditation coach, retreat facilitator and keynote speaker I know the power of unleashing the wisdom, light and and power at the core of our being. Happily, I am a seeker with you and invite you to join me in celebrating this journey together on January 9th.

Contact me for any questions, ideas or comments: nunsense06@yahoo.com, 941-284-3036

Ellie Gibeau - Administrative Coordinator

Ellie is a retired professional with over 30 years of management experience. She has lived in Sarasota since 1999 when she was involved with the Florida House Learning Center where she organized events, managed the volunteer program, and orchestrated the many visitors that came to learn about sustainable living.

After several years at the Florida House and Sarasota County, she became one of the founders of Efest, the successful community festival that celebrates environmental sustainability. Following Efest, Ellie was the Executive Director of the Sarasota Reading Festival.

Currently Ellie and her husband Henry are building a new home where they hope to enjoy many happy hours enjoying the company of family and friends. In addition to volunteering, Ellie enjoys reading, yoga, walking and designing and making doll clothes for charity and her grandchildren.

Danielle Hope Hier - Publicist

In love with the written word, and all things creative, Danielle is an author, journalist, and copywriter, as well as a part time yoga instructor.

As owner of Birdland Yoga, she spends her time writing feature articles, web content, press releases, news briefs, and professional marketing materials for individuals and small businesses. Contributing author for Yoga in America, and author of the upcoming Acting out Yoga series, Danielle also teaches themed journaling workshops for personal growth and creative development.

While her yoga is Hatha and Vinyasa-based, much of her current teachings center on restorative yoga for people overcoming injury, or working past physical restrictions.

A graduate of New York University, with a B.S. in Communications, she is currently earning her M.A. in Professional and Technical Writing at Chatham University. Past media affiliations include Positive Change Magazine, Efest Green Living Guide, Natural Awakenings, and the Tampa Bay Examiner, and she currently writes for Metromix.

Danielle is honored to be a part of Celebrating Wellness, by focusing on promoting the festival through her spirit and her words.

Mary Anne Pogan - Volunteer Coordinator

I am originally from upstate NY, near Albany. It was there that I had a wonderful childhood, met my husband (now married 20 years), and received a BS in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I worked in the engineering field for 7 years, then 5 more as a full time stay at home mom of 3. We vacationed in Florida every year for many years and decided to relocate to Bradenton in 2000.

After living in the same town for our entire lives, the move was more difficult than we had anticipated and I developed health problems due to stress. In search of a way to feel better, I decided to try a yoga class. That was a life altering step for me…I have been practicing yoga and meditation at Garden of the Heart Yoga Center ever since.

In 2003, the role of yoga in my life expanded as I became the Office Manager at Garden of the Heart. Being a part of this community continues to enrich my life on a daily basis. I am so thankful to be able to share with so many loving, creative and spirit filled individuals. It is with this intention that I welcome the opportunity to be a part of the Celebrating Wellness Festival.
